TopTut BSA Success Story & Advice On Pricing Banner Ads

One of our great publishers Lorelei over at TopTut.com wrote a post this morning about how to figure out how much to charge for advertising on your blog.  All great advice, it’s really simple:

  1. Look through our directory
  2. Observe what other publishers are selling ads for
  3. See how many ads they have sold for the price they are charging
  4. Price your ads accordingly

Lorelei previously disapproved of BSA.  And so, I challenged her ;)  Sure enough, she was patient and priced her ads right, and has now sold a bunch of ads through us.

Congrats Lorelei, I’m glad you gave BSA a shot and I’m glad we delivered on our promise!

    WOW, even though its a bit old but I just had no time to comment on this earlier.
    I was so excited to see a whole blog post dedicated to me, thanks Todd! :)

    Yes, initially I thought BSA is yet another doomed project (like Google referrals for instance)
    and if you’d not invite me to give BSA a go, I’d not, so it’s great that you didn’t let my pessimistic review slide :)

    but I soon saw I was wrong and I am GLAD to see I was wrong because as a webmaster, I am the first to benefit from your success. My philosophy is, like I said in my brief pricing guide, to keep prices low so right now I have all the 3 slots on toptut.com sold out, and of course this
    increased toptut.com’s revenue nicely — this is 110% passive income, not only I don’t have to do anything while the adspace monetizes itself, I also don’t need to search for advertisers, collect payments, and keep track with expiration date, so this is a great monthly extra.
    I really like BSA, it’s easy to use and very flexible.
