Feature Release: New Directory

We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to work on the new directory design with the fabulously talented Liam McKay of WeFunction. Although the general layout of the app has changed slightly since we started working with Liam, his work served as the core foundation for the new directory (thank you Liam!). In addition to improving the general look and feel of the new directory, we also made several improvements to the way it works.

Main Directory

In the old directory we did not have a main page that eases you into things. The main page simply showed you every site in inventory starting with the most trafficked sites. The new directory has a main page that eases you into our inventory a bit more. We highlight 12 featured sites and 2 features channels and provide an easy way for you to start your search.

Channels

Channels are what we used to call “categories”. All properties in inventory are now assigned to one main channel (we might allow multiple channels in the future, many have requested it already). This allows to provide advertisers with an easy way to browse inventory vs. having to search. With just a click, you can drill down into a specific subset of our inventory. In addition, you can perform the normal search functions within each channel.

Additional Sorts

The default sort on inventory is still based on traffic, however, you can also view inventory based on what’s popular and what was just added. What’s popular is determined by advertiser buying patterns, which is also inherently tied to performance.

Site By Site Pagination

The next/previous links at the top right of the buy now page will give advertisers another useful option for browsing through our inventory.

Recently Viewed

Recently viewed shows you a list of up to 10 of the last buy now pages you have visited in the directory. This section shows on the left side of all pages within the Buy Ads section.
