8 of 14 isn’t bad, but…

Filed under: General — toddynho @ 7:31 am

Henry, over at DesignReviver.com wrote a post today titled 14 of the Most Useful Web Design Blogs. Although he forgot to include his own blog in that list, BuySellAds.com has 8 of those 14 blogs in our inventory.  If we were to look at how useful these blogs are by virtue of the number of ads sold in relation to how long they have been BSA publishers you would also find that these are definitely high quality blogs.  Ads sold = good pricing + demand + good click-through rate + publishers putting quality content out there.

Over the weekend we were featured on KillerStartups.com. It was cool to be included without actually submitting the site ourselves. You can check out the review here.

Twittering: Be in the know, now

Filed under: General, New Features — toddynho @ 3:49 pm

You can now get the latest and greatest BSA news and announcements on twitter.  We’ll use our twitter channel to comunicate great deals for advertisers and to communicate product updates/info for publishers.  I’m sure we’ll also use it to link to some nice resources for buying/selling ads online too.

Welcome: Elliot Haughin!

Filed under: General — toddynho @ 11:50 am

It’s my pleasure to announce our newest team member: Elliot Haughin.  As you may (or may not) know, we’ve been transitioning BSA over to the CodeIgniter framework while we gear up for the official launch.  As a CodeIgniter Ninja (nope, not a real Ninja, but he almost was one) Elliot has been spearheading this effort.  He’s an awesome developer, especially when it comes to CI.  If you’d like to get to know him better, check out Elliot’s Blog.

So, without further delay, Welcome Aboard Elliot, glad to have you!

GetClicky: Is BuySellAds.com our savior?

Filed under: General, Publishers — toddynho @ 7:41 am

Sean @ GetClicky installed our ad code on his site late Monday night.  By the time he woke up the next morning he had already sold 4 ads.  Wow.  And, at the time of this post he’s now sold 5.  You can read his full review of BSA.  Here are the highlights:

  • He was previously using Rubicon Project and then tried out Project Wonderful
  • Rubicon Project still owes him money :(
  • Project Wonderful was OK, but probably not the best fit for his site. 24 hours later, he’s going to make four times as much with BuySellAds.com (one month) as he did with PW.
  • He likes the fact that we let publishers cash out whenever they want
  • The fact that we’re built on top of Amazon Web Services gives him a good vibe and sense of security (i.e. his ads have an extremely low chance of being down).

It’s great to have a nice review like this from one of our biggest publishers.  If you’re not already using GetClicky, you should.  It’s free web analytics tool way better than Google Analytics.
